Violation of the coherence analysis is common in medical education. Biological processes and anatomy are complex and visual images are commonly used to relay this information. Instructors tend to use visuals with lots of detail. Its also fairly common for instructors to add cartoons or other extraneous images to their slides. This, I commonly encounter two violations of the coherence principle: extraneous material and using complex instead of simpler visuals.
